بسم اللہ الرحمٰن الرحیم
وَالَّذِينَ يَبِيتُونَ لِرَبِّهِمْ سُجَّدًا وَقِيَامًا
[And those who spend the night in worship of their Lord, prostrate and standing. 25:65]

A poem by Makhdoom Mohyideen

aap ki yaad aati rahi raat bhar

chashm-e-nam muskuraati rahi raat bhar

raat bhar dard ki shammaa jalati rahi
gam ki lau tharatharaati rahi raat bhar

baansuri ki surili suhaani sadaa
yaad ban ban ke aati rahi raat bhar

yaad ke chaand dil men utarate rahe
chaandanii jagamaati rahi raat bhar

koi diivaanaa galiyon men phirataa rahaa
koi aavaaz aati rahi raat bhar

Rough Translation:

Thought of You lingered all night
My wet eyes kept smiling all night

The flame kept on burning all night
The flame of pain kept trembling all night

The sound of melodious flute
Kept coming back as a memory all night

The moons of your memory kept descending in the heart
The moonlit sky glittered all night

Some lover wandered through lanes
Some familiar voice kept coming all night
